In 2008, I became partially disabled and had time to learn what the Audacity free shareware music program was all about. I had it installed onto my computer for about a year prior, not doing anything with it. Since I had several months off work, this was my chance to become a self-taught engineer. (In reality, I still consider myself just a singer, songwriter, musician and nothing more.) The very first project I attempted was in my home with my computer with Audacity. It was a song Ennio Morricone wrote. It was the main title theme to the movie, “For A Few Dollars More.” I took the main riff and added an entirely different bridge that I wrote. I combined the two together and came up with a half original tune. So, for this song, I have to say it was written by Ennio Morricone and arranged by Wayde K. Brown. For this song, I used only my acoustic guitar for all the parts. (I didn’t want to do more than I was capable of was my opinion at the time.) The only other “instruments” you’ll hear will be my vocal during the bridge and a click track that was blended into the song that came as part of the Audacity program. Also, it was just a beginning to see how this program actually worked as far as recording went. I had a fun time learning, mostly by trial and error. It wasn’t until a few months later, during The Rice Cracker Project sessions, that I became more comfortable with the programming. This is now song #487 on list of songs I’ve written.
